Speedy Tips

Ideas that you may not have thought about.

1.  A quick and economical lighting solution.

A flexible flashlight makes a good temporary head light.  They are reasonable priced and widely available.  Look for them in hardware stores, discount department stores, home/building centers and even grocery stores.

2. Don't get caught with a low battery!

If your scooter or power wheelchair has a removable power cord,  don't be caught without the cord.  Buy an extra power cord or an extension cord with the same gauge wire. Put it in a small zippered bag and attach it to your seat. Then any time you run low on power, you will have your cord.

3.  More power.

If your vehicle has a power plug near where your scooter or power wheel chair rides, consider buying a power converter.  This small appliance will convert the DC power to AC and you can charge your batteries while you are traveling.  They are available in department stores and auto supply stores for $25 to $40.

4.  Travel Tool Kit

Put together a small tool kit of items you need for your equipment.
    Extra keys
    Flashlight
    Fuses if needed
    Any wrenches needed for tightening
    Screwdrivers
    Pliers/wire cutters
    Electrical wire and wire connectors
    Electrical tape
    Small roll of duct tape
    Oil or other lubricant
    Small coil of bailing wire
